2025 Graduation Program Cover Design
Congratulations to Nora Berisha (Class of 2025) for creating the cover design for the 2025 Graduation Ceremony Program. Her graduation cover, featuring a dock stretching toward a glowing sunset, symbolizes each graduate's journey ahead. The dock invites students to step into the unknown with courage, while the sunset marks both an ending and a new beginning. Its warm tones inspire reflection on past growth, and the solitary path suggests the importance of individuality. The calm water and natural setting remind us that growth takes time and comes with quiet strength. Altogether, the image captures a hopeful, transitional moment filled with possibility. Way to go, Nora! Special thanks to Mrs. McCoy, Ms. Akre, and Mrs. Nuzzo for their efforts in ensuring the project's success!

Congratulations to Henry Mathre (Class of 2024) for creating the cover design for the 2024 Graduation Ceremony Program. A sunrise symbolizes new beginnings and hope, marking the transition to the next life chapter. The lake represents calmness, reflection, and depth, highlighting the importance of looking back on years of learning and growth. Lastly, the tree in the foreground symbolizes renewal, growth, and new beginnings, celebrating the graduates' readiness to bloom and flourish in their future endeavors. Together, these images create a powerful metaphor for the transformative journey of graduation. Henry's ambitious and successful project truly deserves recognition. Way to go, Henry! Students share talent with Pizza ShackBeginning June 26th, 2009, Newark’s new Pizza Shack will display paintings depicting the village’s history. The collection of five paintings, depicting local scenes as they appeared in 1968, will be on permanent display. This was a great opportunity for Newark art students to be involved with the history of the community, experience civic pride and learn about the experiences of creating artwork in a situation where the artwork has been commissioned. It was a chance for them to be generous with their skills and give a great gift to the community of Newark at a place for casual and everyday encounters. View Paintings
A Collaborative Mural for the CommunityWe have recently completed a large-scale collaborative service learning project; a permanent mural painted by five students entitled “Celebrating Newark throughout the Ages.” This project was quite an achievement because it heightened students' skills in art communication and their ability to work with community boards, outside experts, and dignitaries, moving them from solo artists into communal artists, participants and leaders within their community. read more
