An All-Star Advanced Studio Class

Readers,
Even though the semester has just begun, it is clear we have an all-star group in the advanced studio class this year. They are hard at work already preparing for the class show tentatively on the calendar for Friday, May 16. Each student creates five pieces of work, often around a theme of their choice. This group is extremely dedicated, and several of the students have been planning to take this class since freshman year. We have a well-rounded class with some artists who are more focused on 3-D and ceramics and a few excellent veteran drawing students. As current and former art students have learned, the best art takes time. This class is the most demanding of all art classes in the time required. The students are already devote hours in class, and after school as well. The show at the end of the semester requires a special effort, and this year it will most definitely showcase the work of an exceptional group of talented young artists. This event is sure to impress. Mark your calendars in pencil now and watch the NCHS website for details as we get closer. The exhibit stays up for a brief moment and the show is a special opportunity to admire and interact with both the artists and their best work.
