Painting Class becomes Landscape Painting Class in May

Painting from observation involves a coordination of the eye and the hand that requires tremendous concentration and practice. Landscape painting provides a unique challenge for artists, because unlike a static, arranged and carefully lit still life, the landscape is always changing. The landscape's light, shadow and color tone may change frequently during one sitting, and may change completely from one day to the next. As you can see in the examples below, the class did a terrific job of capturing the essence of the Newark's evolving landscape.
