Miniature Still Life Paintings

The following paintings were completed by Painting Class as practice before beginning a larger, final still life painting. Painting from observation is like learning a new language, especially in the digital age. It involves a coordination of the eye and the hand that requires tremendous concentration and practice. Students must become keen observers of light, shadow and color tone. It is remarkably different from working from a photograph or 2-D source image. View our practice mini-still life paintings below:
